The inevitable setback

Last weekend I tried to introduce a new category. This time I decided on shrimp as it's one of my favorite shellfish. I grilled it up with some garlic and olive oil and had it in a rice bowl with broccoli. It was incredibly tasty for sure, however, just about 15 minutes later I started getting a tight throat. Thinking it might just be psychological I decided to try it again as leftovers later that same day. Again it was tasty, and again about 15 minutes later I started getting that same tight throat feeling. Soooo shrimp is definitely out, along with the coconut I determined after introduction about a month ago. In either case, it is still progress. I am learning what NOT to eat along with things (so far just one) thing that I was able to reintroduce, which was tuna!
Was it sad to find out something I really enjoy is a trigger, most definitely, however, I am gratefully to finally be putting labels on what has been giving me such a hard time for a long time now.
I have not had any symptoms since last Saturday when I tried the shrimp, so if I remain symptom free I will be attempting eggs this weekend. I decided it will be best to try it in phases. I will try egg whites, egg yolks, and then both together. I am thinking I'll try the egg whites in the form of an old fashioned cocktail, however, I have not decided which one just yet. Egg yolk I'll have to think about but think I'll do the full egg as a fried egg over avocado toast! I will let you know how it goes in my next post!
In the meantime, I will be uploading some more items to the recipes, tips/tricks, and substitution pages ASAP!
